I am a Senior Lecturer in Law at Lancaster University Law School. I research in the area of criminal law and criminal justice and have conducted the first research project in the UK on forced-to-penetrate cases, gathering quantitative and qualitative data from male survivors on their experiences. I have been awarded funding from the British Academy to support this work. My research has been published in leading international journals and also received extensive media coverage. My work in the area of forced-to-penetrate cases has influenced both policy and practice relating to supporting male survivors of sexual violence. I am passionate about improving the legal and criminal justice responses for all survivors of sexual violence and abuse.
