Our Vision
At The Birchall Trust, we believe that we should live in a society that is free of
rape, sexual abuse, and sexualised violence.
Mission Statement
The Birchall Trust empowers people affected by rape, sexual abuse, or
sexualised violence to recover from their trauma so they can lead safe and
fulfilling lives.
We do this through:
❖ Providing face to face and remote trauma informed counselling services
❖ Delivering play therapy, creative and sand tray therapy for children aged 4
and above
❖ Offering pre-trial therapy sessions to adults and children whilst involved in
the criminal justice process
❖ Considering the wider support needs of people using our services and where
appropriate work in partnership to meet those needs
❖ Working with parents, carers, families, and friends of people affected by rape,
sexual abuse, or sexualised violence
❖ Holding groups, peer support sessions and offering outdoor therapies
❖ Delivering educational programmes, training, and consultancy to other
agencies – voluntary and statutory
❖ Having online digital information and resources
❖ Raising awareness of the wider issues around rape, sexual abuse, or
sexualised violence within our communities
We cover issues including childhood abuse, child sexual exploitation, trafficking,
sex workers and online abuse
We aim to meet the needs of anyone irrespective of gender identity, sexuality,
ethnicity, culture, or religion
