There are many ways for you to get involved in our work here at Birchall

Company meeting

Trustees

Birchall is faced with unprecedented demand for its services and is embarking on an ambitious three-year strategic development plan following consultation with the people we have helped.

Do you want to make a difference for survivors of sexual abuse / violence?

We have recently conducted a skills review within our current Board membership and have established that we are specifically looking for new Trustees with expertise in one of the following areas:

  • Human Resources

  • Fundraising

  • Business Management

  • Marketing and social media

For more details on role responsibilities, please see our application pack

Ambassadors

Ambassadors help us raise our profile and make an impact. Their support is vital to our campaigning and fundraising work.

Birchall Trust Ambassadors come from a wide range of backgrounds, so you could be an influencer in business/the media, or someone with lived experience of our services.

If you have a passion about the work that we do and want to be involved (it could be anonymously, remotely or in person) then please fill in our sign up form or email us for a copy.

Volunteers

There are many different ways that you can get involved. Whatever your reason for volunteering at Birchall, we have something for you.

  • Volunteer and participate in our events to raise money

  • Volunteer your handy-work expertise to improve our offices (painting, decorating therapy rooms etc.)

  • Community Engagement Volunteer - help us to engage our local communities and inform them about our work

  • Marketing Volunteer to develop our social media strategy

  • Much more...

You don’t need qualifications or previous experience of this kind of work to volunteer for Birchall. All you need is the willingness to help and a little time – we’ll do the rest. You’ll need to be over the age of 16 to volunteer with us.

Student Placements

We offer student placements for people who are undertaking training at diploma, degree, or masters level in counselling and psychotherapy. We will support you throughout your entire time with us, offering help and advice where you need it, and providing you with training and other information that you can apply to your professional and personal development. We already have students from a wide range of universities and colleges, and have proudly seen many of our students develop into fully qualified practitioners through us.

As our placements could involve working one-to-one with children and vulnerable adults, we will ask that you undertake a Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) Check before starting with us. This will be arranged after your interview.

Would you like to do a student placement at Birchall? Email us for more information.
