The Birchall Trust, Supporting Survivors of Rape and Sexual Abuse in South Cumbria 01229 820828

Who are The Birchall Trust and what do we offer.

The Birchall Trust was founded in 1991 and over the last 25 years we have helped over 3,500 people to start living the lives they want and deserve to live.

We offer FREE one to one weekly counselling  sessions to male and females of all ages who have experienced rape and/or sexual abuse in South Cumbria and North Lancashire.

We also offer the counselling service to friends and family of people who have experienced rape and/or sexual abuse so they can help their loved ones through their counselling journey.

As a service we do not work with perpetrators of rape and/or sexual abuse.

How can it help me?

Experiencing any form of sexual abuse can have harmful effects which can include:-

Flashbacks, Nightmares, Addictions, Sleep problems, Self Harm, Anxiety, Guilt, Blame, Suicidal Thoughts,  Depression and Relationships difficulties.

Our counsellors are all qualified, registered with a professional body and experienced.  They will be alongside you in your journey to building the life you want.

Counselling provides a warm, safe, trusting, non-judgemental and confidential space where you can build a therapeutic relationship with your counsellor to explore how the rape and/or sexual abuse is impacting on your life now.

In this space you can identify unhelpful behaviours/situations which you feel you want to change.
